Steven Llanes
Class of 2018
Steven Llanes served in the administration of President George W. Bush in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security where he helped engage the public in our nation’s preparedness efforts while also forging relations with allies abroad. Today, Llanes is a lawyer and community leader in his home state of New Jersey.
During PLS, Llanes’ personal background as the son of Cuban immigrants, his legal training, and passion for government service provided the foundation for him to focus on developing civics training for the American citizenship exam. More broadly, Steven is committed to strengthening opportunity for civic engagement, service, and leadership in American society.
