Ruben Salinas
Class of 2018
Ruben Salinas turned a traumatic family event into his life’s calling after his daughter was born prematurely over a decade ago. Since then, Salinas has dedicated his business acumen, engineering know-how, and clinical skill toward improving the diagnostic and therapeutic options available to improve maternal and fetal outcomes.
During PLS, Salinas developed a program centered on reducing preterm birth rates in pregnant women from disadvantaged populations by providing access to a set of proven interventions. These include early-pregnancy screening, group prenatal care, progesterone therapy, aspirin for preeclampsia prevention, and reduction of early elective deliveries.
