Class of 2018
Employment and Workforce Development
As a first-generation American raised in Florida, Miguel Romano was the first member of his family to graduate from college. His career in public and private sectors led him to Austin, Texas where he met and related to low-income Hispanic students’ struggles to envision, develop, and execute a career path.
During PLS, Romano focused his efforts on CaminoForward, a nonprofit he started that encourages students to develop a career path by introducing them to leaders in their community through a series of speaker forums.
