Matthew Banks

Class of 2018

Health Care

Matthew Banks started working as a nursing assistant at the age of 18. Today, he is CEO of a suburban acute care hospital.  His unique perspective spans being a bedside caregiver to serving as an organizational leader, but few challenges he has faced compare to the current opioid epidemic.

During PLS, Banks collaborated with the multiple disciplines within his hospital to open an inpatient medical detox unit to help patients begin the path to sobriety using physical, behavioral, and spiritual support mechanisms.
