Davis Smith

Class of 2018

International Development or Humanitarian Aid

After spending ten years as an entrepreneur and building two successful businesses, Davis Smith used his experiences in creating new ventures to build a social enterprise that could give back. Smith grew up in Latin America and spent much of his adulthood back in the region, which inspired the launch of Cotopaxi, an outdoor gear brand with a humanitarian mission at its core.

One of the key focuses of Cotopaxi’s impact work involves refugees, which was also Smith’s area of focus during PLS. During his time in the program, he worked and continues to provide refugee entrepreneurs with mentors, workshops, and a culminating new venture challenge.
