Risha Irvin

Class of 2018

As a clinician and public health advocate interested in community health and marginalized populations, Risha Irvin has worked in HIV and hepatitis C virus (HCV) policy, prevention, and intervention development with the objective of decreasing health disparities. These experiences have defined her mission, which is to improve the health of vulnerable populations impacted by HIV and/or HCV including economically disadvantaged persons, racial/ethnic minorities, and people with multi-substance use.

During PLS, Irvin honed her leadership skills to advance the development of a partnership to help individuals with chronic hepatitis C gain access to care and curative therapies through a coordinated care model. The model includes patient-centered interventions, health-system practice transformation, and telemedicine.
